Now before you dive into this website, let's get some introductions out of the way... I've got quite a few helpers here. Some are real people, some are just characters, and some are combinations of both. Who is real, who is a character, and who is a combination of both, really doesn't matter since it sometimes changes on a daily basis depending upon who is doing what around here...
- "Cecil The Psychic(?) Rabbit" is definately a character. He's our furry little friend who bills himself as: "The Internets First Official Mindreading(?) Rabbit". You'll find him wandering around our Interactive Magic Tricks section, and passing out stars while he rates other websites in our Magic Sites section. Sometimes Cecil supplies this website with more logic and understanding than anyone else I know. He doesn't complain much and doesn't bite (often). .
- "Matt Thomas" appears to be real, although nobody seems to know (or care) anymore. I think he's more of a combination of both "character" and "real person", soaking up all the credit for the accurate research and writings when things are going well, and dumping the mistakes on other people when things are less than perfect. He also sifts thru all the emails. Personally, I like to think of "Matt Thomas" as an abbreviation for:
" Mostly A Think Tank " (M.A.T.T. or "Matt")
" That Helps Others Move And Shake " (T.H.O.M.A.S. or "Thomas")
Matt is a mover and shaker that gets things done, and has been known to bark like a dog from time to time, just to wake up some people..
- "Professor Luke" is our real resident know-it-all. He boasts that he's capable of killing people with his bare feet, although he usually ends up getting his butt kicked while taking off his shoes and socks! If you have ANY problems with this website, he'll take care of it (one way or another). WARNING: He bites, chews and spits, and has been known to block people from accessing this website, so obey the rules (see our Terms & Conditions at the bottom of the main page). P.S.: He also accepts bribes (Donations) to speed along your MAI GOLD KEY MEMBERSHIPS which help to keep this site going!
Finally, here's a copy of our first published "mission statement" (A letter to our first time visitors) way back from 1998... which seemed to change a million times before it eventually made it's way onto the internet in June of 1999...
